From trial to practice: New real-world data reinforce the use of IN.PACT DCB across AV fistula lesions

Sanjay Misra (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA) comments on the recently presented findings from the primary cohort of the IN.PACT AV Access post-approval study (PAS), evaluating real-world outcomes in patients treated for arteriovenous (AV) fistula stenosis. Speaking to Vascular News, Misra explains how the 12-month results reaffirm the safety and effectiveness of the IN.PACTâ„¢ (Medtronic) drug-coated balloon (DCB), demonstrating outcomes consistent with those previously observed in the IN.PACT AV Access randomised clinical trial.

Finally, he highlights the positive outcomes observed in both restenotic and de novo lesions, explaining why these findings reinforce the use of DCB therapy as a primary line of treatment across both lesion types.
