Yann Gouëffic (Hospital Paris Saint-Joseph, Paris, France) discusses one-year data from the IN.PACT™ Admiral™ (Medtronic) drug-coated balloon (DCB) product surveillance registry (PSR) presented at the 2026 CX Symposium (21–23 April; London, UK), highlighting outcomes from a complex all-comers population treated in routine clinical practice. Speaking to Vascular News shortly after delivering the results, he reflects on the importance of looking beyond procedural success to understand how patients improve following intervention.
The findings demonstrated sustained vessel outcomes that were consistent with those previously reported in the IN.PACT clinical programme, alongside meaningful improvements in symptoms and functional status. Gouëffic also addresses the ongoing discussion around DCB class effect, explaining why outcomes observed with one device platform should not automatically be extrapolated across an entire treatment category.
