13

Host Peter Schneider (University of California, San Francisco, USA) continues the Vascular News roundtable discussion at CX 2026 on developments in the use of drug-coated devices in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). In part two, he is once again joined by Tatsuya Nakama (Tokyo Bay Medical Center, Chiba, Japan), Yann Gouëffic (Hôpital Paris St Joseph, Paris, France) and Joakim Nordanstig (University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden), and the quartet of leading voices in PAD care touch on device safety. They discuss how the Japanese health system approached safety concerns around paclitaxel-coated devices following the mortality signal identified by the Katsanos meta-analysis, as well as the SWEDEPAD conundrum and upcoming real-world, nationwide data from France, before turning to the latest developments in sirolimus-coated devices and limus drug delivery considerations.
