Vascular News caught up with Fabrizio Fanelli (Careggi University Hospital, Florence, Italy) at the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) annual congress (5–9 September, Copenhagen, Denmark) to discuss the recent European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) guideline update on asymptomatic peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and intermittent claudication, which advises against the routine use of paclitaxel-coated devices.
