Terumo Aortic has announced the acquisition of Serom Medical Technology S.r.l. by Vascutek Ltd and the subsequent merger with Bolton Medical S.r.l. in Italy.
Serom Medical Technology S.r.l. has successfully represented Vascutek in Italy for more than 30 years and a close partnership has been forged between the two companies over this long period of time. Aligned with this acquisition, Bolton Medical in Italy and Serom Medical Technology will merge and trade under the brand Terumo Aortic located in Rome.
A press release states that Terumo Aortic’s vision is to provide the most comprehensive portfolio of endovascular, surgical and hybrid products with an outstanding level of customer service.
Paul Holbrook, president and CEO Terumo Aortic, says: “This acquisition represents an important milestone as we continue to grow our business globally and become a world leader in driving innovation and developing devices to treat aortic disease. We very much look forward to further developing our strong relationships with clinicians in Italy and strengthening our collaboration with clinicians supported by our new combined team.”
Sofia Moresco, who will lead the Terumo Aortic business in Italy in her position as managing director adds: “We are honoured to be part of the Terumo Aortic business. Having worked with Vascutek for a long time, this next chapter presents us with many opportunities as we grow the business in Italy.
