Straub Medical AG has announced that the Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency ANVISA has approved the Rotarex S and Aspirex S rotational catheter systems. These endovascular rotational catheters restore blood flow in occluded blood vessels by removing occlusion material from the vessel.

Ricardo Aun, vascular surgeon at Albert Einstein Hospital São Paulo and associate professor in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Universidade de São Paulo, welcomes ANVISA’s decision: “RotarexS and AspirexS rotational catheter systems are internationally established standard treatments for arterial and venous occlusive disease. With the ANVISA approval, endovascular specialists throughout Brazil can now use these catheter systems to treat a large variety of vascular occlusions in their patients.”

Straub Medical AG has mandated Tecmedic Produtos Médicos Ltda in Curitiba with distribution and service of its products in Brazil. Francois Nigro and Thomas Bonetti, directors at Tecmedic, are excited about this addition to their portfolio: “We supply a comprehensive portfolio of products and services to vascular specialists in all regions of Brazil. RotarexS and AspirexS perfectly match with our promise to provide interventionists with the tools they need to effectively help their patients.”
