ISI signs guidewire development agreement with Juan Parodi.

Interventional & Surgical Innovations (ISI) has signed an agreement with Dr Juan Parodi, Professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Miami, to develop and commercialise a unique and proprietary guidewire platform technology for greatly simplifying minimally invasive interventional surgical procedures. Under the terms of the agreement, ISI will provide both funding as well as development and regulatory expertise to bring this new product to the US market in the 2008/2009 timeframe. “We are thrilled that Dr Parodi has brought this unique platform technology to ISI and are excited to have the opportunity to continue developing and commercialise this revolutionary new technology,” said Peter Hinchliffe, CEO of ISI. “Dr Parodi, once again, has come up with a truly innovative device with significant market potential. This new guidewire platform will save surgeon and operating room time, and simplify complex procedures by reducing guidewire exchanges and providing significant handling advantages over anything available today.” ISI was founded by Trevi Health Ventures and Peter Hinchliffe in January of 2007 to identify and develop through commercialisation early-stage medical device technologies with an initial focus in cardiovascular and general surgery.
