Gore has announced the availability of the new Q50 PLUS Stent Graft Balloon Catheter. According to a company release, the new device features enhanced radial expansion force to aid in endograft modeling and sealing, and a new stopcock design to improve operator control.

This new catheter has been designed to be used with aortic stent grafts that treat abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA).

“The new enhancements allow for improved confidence in ensuring aortic stents fully expand and seal in both tortuous and straightforward vessels,” said Erin Moore, Medical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Baptist Heart Hospital, Jacksonville, USA.

The company release also highlights that the Q50 PLUS device provides exceptional balloon inflation control, optimised catheter pushability, and a tapered flexible tip to facilitate device passage. The inflated balloon diameter ranges from 10 to 50mm, ensuring full expansion and sealing of aortic stent grafts. Available in 65cm and 100cm lengths in a 12Fr introduction profile, the Q50 PLUS device is ideal for temporary occlusion of large vessels.

Gore is the exclusive US distributor of the Q50 PLUS Stent Graft Balloon Catheter for QXMédical, a medical device company based in Montreal, Canada.
