FISH vascular closure device revealed

Morris Innovative recently introduced its FISH (femoral introducer sheath and haemostasis) vascular closure device, designed to prevent scar tissue, avoid inflammation and resist infection at the arteriotomy.

FISH uses SIS (small intestinal submucosa) biomaterial to seal arterial catheterisation access sites. The device requires a single sheath for delivery of the introducer and vascular closure device. It compresses from within the artery to avoid nerve impingement and discomfort to the patient.

Currently on limited release in certain regions, the FISH device is planned for a US launch early in 2009.
