The Emerge.MD’s Consult Accelerator, an innovative solution for virtual patient consultation was presented by the Arizona Heart Foundation during the International Congress for Endovascular Specialists (iCON), held in Scottsdale, Arizona from 13 to 17 February 2011.

Consult Accelerator is a web-based collaborative workflow solution that automates and coordinates encounters for health care providers around the patient care cycle. This interactive tool enables providers to collaborate with referring physicians, report critical results, and provide real time consults, training, and education. In addition, this system provides detailed reports, allowing administrators to track utilisation, adoption, and when results are communicated.

“During iCON, we were able to showcase the immediate ability to remotely consult with physicians on complex cardiovascular pathologies as if the referring physician were standing in my clinic or hybrid operating suite,” said Grayson Wheatley, cardiovascular surgeon, Arizona Heart Institute. “With Consult Accelerator, we can discuss cases using today’s multi-media tools that allow for instant feedback, care decision making, and immediate follow-up.”

Consult Accelerator provides a web-based voice, video, and screen-sharing environment for remote consultation functionality. It allows for picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) sharing and can be accessed via PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Blackberry, or Android device.

”We are thrilled to collaborate with The Arizona Heart Foundation to demonstrate our Consult Accelerator solution at this year’s iCON conference and are committed through our workflow aware telemedicine solutions to enable clinical collaboration and patient visits from anywhere in the world on any web enabled device,” said Eric Trappen, CEO, Emerge.MD.
