Frank Veith (Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA; New York University Medical Center, New York City, USA), chairman of the VEITHsymposium, has announced that Gustavo Oderich (Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, USA) will be assuming the role of the organisation’s executive director with a commitment to become the future chairman of the meeting.

In a statement announcing the news, Veith commented that, “It is the hope of the organisation’s leaders that the meeting and its associated activities continue long into the future, and that it evolves and improves to maintain its quality and prominence in the vascular world. As in the past, this will include highlighting key developments and advances made by vascular surgeons and specialists from all over the world as well as by our industry partners.”

The statement adds that all others on the VEITHsymposium team will continue in their present roles, including Enrico Ascher (NYU Grossman School of Medicine, New York, USA) as a symposium co-chairman.

“We believe this change in leadership will improve the meeting’s long-term evolution to enhance its ability to provide the best, most innovative and most up-to-date educational experience to all those interested in the management of vascular diseases,” Veith continues.

The VEITHsymposium 2026, which is the 53rd iteration of the meeting, will take place 17–21 November in New York, USA.
