Robert Rhee (New York, USA) moderates a Charing Cross 2021 webinar–A deep dive in the GORE® ACTIVE CONTROL System–where he is joined by Robin Heijmen (Nieuwegein, Netherlands) and Michele Antonello (Padua, Italy). The trio discuss what makes the GORE® ACTIVE CONTROL System “unique”.
Rhee gives a presentation on this “new technology in the EVAR and TEVAR frontier”, discussing some of the key features and benefits of the system, which he notes include precision, optimal sealing and conformability.
Heijmen presents on the TEVAR application of the GORE® ACTIVE CONTROL System in patients with difficult anatomies, noting that the staged deployment and angulation control offers “excellent accuracy and conformability”.
Antonello shares his own experience of using the GORE® EXCLUDER® Conformable AAA Endoprosthesis with ACTIVE CONTROL System in patients with “challenging proximal neck”, and states that you can treat complex anatomies with “optimal results” and in “quite an easy way”.
The trio also discuss when it is appropriate to use angulation control in TEVAR and when it is not, as well as how and when to use the staged deployment. Concluding, Rhee states the GORE® ACTIVE CONTROL System is “really a system for the masses”, and that the next generation of physicians “will get accustomed to this control aspect and are going to demand it”.
