10MD radiation protection textile granted US patent

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted the Ten Medical Design AB (10MD) patent application, Radiation Protective Material (US2016060791), a press release from the Sweden-based company states. 

This patent describes ways for the surgical staff to stay protected from X-ray radiation using a radiation protective fabric being permeable to air while complying with the high demands on radiation safety. “Receiving a US patent approval is a great sign of acceptance for our innovative radiation protection textile and it will strengthen our position on one of the worlds largest markets” says Petra Apell, business developer and co-founder of 10MD.The announcement from the USPTO follows previous patent grants from the Swedish, Russian and Australian Patent authorities.
