Ronald L Dalman (Stanford, USA), vice president of the Society for Vascular Surgery, discusses how aligning an individual surgeon’s goals with those of the institution at which he/she is sited is important to counter the “epidemic” of burnout. Dalman presented on how to effectively build a career in vascular surgery at the London Aortic Symposium 2018 where he gave a keynote lecture on the topic.
