Reduced noise, increased visibility: OPTIQ AI leads to “easier and more reliable” procedures

Sitting down in the CX Studio at CX 2026, Markus Steinbauer (Krankenhaus Barmherzige Brüder, Regensburg, Germany) shares his thoughts on a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered imaging chain from Siemens Healthineers: OPTIQ AI.

According to Steinbauer, the new image chain makes both aortic and peripheral procedures “easier and more reliable”, helping to avoid issues that might previously have arisen due to suboptimal visualisation. “OPTIQ AI gives us the tool to improve the image quality, to reduce the noise, and this will shorten our procedures,” he explains. Furthermore, pending further data, Steinbauer anticipates the new image chain will demonstrate an ability to reduce radiation dose.
