According to a recent press release, MicroPort’s Minos ultra-low abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) stent graft and and Hercules low-profile thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) stent graft are now CE marked and available in Europe through Lombard Medical.
In addition, the first procedures in Europe using the Hercules thoracic stent graft (Lombard Medical) have been successfully completed. Two patients in Saarland University Medical Center, Homburg, Germany, have been treated for thoracic and abdominal aneurysms.
The procedures were performed by Alexander Massmann who stated “the devices were easy to use with accurate placement, leading to short procedure time”.
Lombard CEO Kurt Lemvigh said “We are extremely pleased with the interest in these devices which are new to the European market. Feedback from the initial implants is very positive showing the devices combine the advantages of current technology alongside some additional benefits.”
