The Editors of the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery have announced the introduction of a new Open Access, online journal to run alongside the existing journal.
The new journal will enable them to publish Case Reports as well as Technical and Operative videos. Submissions will be subject to peer review and, if accepted for publication, the author then pays a fee (approximately 500 Euros). The paper is then accessible by anyone, free of charge.
Unlike EJVES Extra, it is anticipated that papers published in the new journal will be fully citable on Pubmed.
This is an exciting initiative for the EJVES and Professor Jean-Baptiste Ricco has been appointed to be the first Editor of this new Journal. Ricco has extensive experience in this field, having previously been Editor in Chief of EJVES and he was responsible for introducing the iPad EJVES App.
