Bioabsorbable stent shows better results than surgery in patients with common femoral artery stenosis and high BMI

Klaus Linni, Salzburg, Austria, spoke to Vascular News about the early results from a randomised trial comparing the use of a bioabsorbable stent vs. thrombendarterectomy for the treatment of common femoral artery lesions. The data were presented at the European Society for Vascular Surgery Annual Meeting (18–21 September, Budapest, Hungary).
