Avinger announced that two live cases using the Ocelot guided chronic total occlusion crossing catheter will be transmitted by Giovanni Torsello and Arne Schwindt from St Franziskus Hospital, Münster, Germany, to an expert panel and live audience at the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC) 2012 conference in Leipzig, Germany on Friday, 27 January.

Ocelot is the first real-time optical coherence guided crossing catheter for chronic total occlusions in the peripheral vascular system. Ocelot received CE mark in Europe in September 2011.

“We are looking forward to transmitting two live cases from Münster to this year’s LINC audience,” said John B Simpson, founder and CEO, Avinger. “Our hosts, Professor Giovanni Torsello and Dr Arne Schwindt, will show how Ocelot will help physicians worldwide improve outcomes for patients suffering from peripheral artery disease.”

The expert panelists during the Ocelot live cases include Tony Das, Bernhard Reimers, Antonio Colombo, Lawrence Garcia, Richard Kovach and Craig Walker.
