The Rouleaux Club—the UK’s national vascular trainee society—in association with the CX Symposium 2025 and BIBA Medical, has announced a new competition intended to educate the public on deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
Entitled “The Swollen Leg”, the competition invited submitters to create an infographic or short infomercial video explaining DVT and PE to encourage better public awareness of the associated symptoms.
Infographics and short infomercial videos were welcomed from all students and trainees involved in caring for vascular patients including but not limited to trainee members of the international societies for vascular surgeons, physiotherapists, vascular nurses, podiatrists and vascular technologists.
Moderated by Rouleaux Club education representative Adam Talbot, the CX 2025 audience will vote for the top five infomercials and infographics which will be shown today, Wednesday, at 16:30 in the CX Presentation Zone.
The successful creators of the top five infomercials will receive free entry to the symposium. The monetary prizes of £1,000 for the infomercial and £500 for the infographic will also be announced during the session, which are suggested to go towards surgical loupes, leads or another item or educational course relevant to the individual’s practice.
