Ahmed Eleshra (Mansoura, Egypt) writes on behalf of the Egyptian Vascular and Endovascular Society (EVES) board about the upcoming EVES Summit 2025 (29 October–1 November, Cairo, Egypt).

From 29 October to 1 November 2025, Cairo will once again take its place at the heart of global vascular innovation as the EVES hosts its flagship international gathering—the EVES Summit 2025.

Accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 32 CME hours, the Summit stands as one of the most prestigious scientific assemblies in the Mediterranean, African, and Middle Eastern regions. Bringing together over 100 international speakers, 20 global societies, and more than 1,000 delegates, EVES 2025 represents a defining platform for scientific collaboration, education, and the advancement of vascular and endovascular practice.

A vision beyond boundaries

This year’s theme, ‘Integrate, elevate, innovate: Reshaping the vascular future in Egypt,’ captures the essence of EVES’s evolution—from a regional educational initiative to a worldwide scientific movement. The Summit embodies EVES’s enduring mission: to unite disciplines, elevate standards, and inspire innovation that translates directly into improved patient outcomes.

The comprehensive scientific programme spans the full continuum of vascular disease, from aortic pathology to peripheral and venous disorders, lymphoedema, vascular access, diabetic foot, and limb salvage. Across 10 parallel tracks and more than 350 sessions, participants will engage in keynote lectures, high-level debates, case-based discussions, and live demonstrations that transform theoretical science into practical mastery.

Scientific highlights and key themes

The EVES 2025 scientific committee has curated an agenda that reflects a balance of innovation, education, and clinical relevance. Sessions include:

  • The aortic revolution: advancements in aortic arch, thoracoabdominal and pararenal interventions, the STABILISE and physician-modified endograft (PMEG) techniques, and new-generation solutions for complex anatomies. Experts will discuss fenestrated and branched stent graft technologies, emphasising spinal cord protection and long-term durability.
  • Peripheral arterial disease frontiers: debates on drug-coated technologies, atherectomy, and retrograde and pedal-plantar approaches, highlighting the paradigm shift from the angiosome to the woundosome concept, supported by data from national and global registries.
  • Venous and lymphatic advances: a multidisciplinary view on iliac vein compression, chronic venous obstruction, and lymphatic surgery, with updates in microsurgical and excisional techniques for advanced lymphoedema.
  • Dialysis and vascular access innovation: expert sessions addressing PTFE graft selection, endovascular salvage, and transhepatic and translumbar catheterisation, underscoring the importance of multidisciplinary end-stage renal disease (ESRD) management.
  • Diabetic foot and limb salvage: a signature focus of EVES, featuring below-the-ankle angioplasty, hybrid limb-salvage strategies, and multidisciplinary wound management, reflecting Egypt’s leadership in diabetic foot care.

Complementing these are the Women in Vascular Leadership Forum and the EVES Youth Forum, both designed to foster inclusion, mentorship, and the exchange of new ideas.

Through live case transmissions, simulation workshops, and interactive symposia, EVES 2025 ensures that delegates do not merely listen to innovation; they experience it in action.

EVES: A national society with a global vision

The EVES has become a beacon of unity and excellence across continents. Founded to position Egypt as a centre of vascular distinction, EVES has built a comprehensive educational network that includes hands-on workshops, masterclasses, and certified training programmes throughout the year.

The society’s collaborative ethos has forged enduring partnerships with European, Mediterranean, African, and Middle Eastern societies, reflecting a shared vision of advancing vascular care through knowledge exchange and scientific diplomacy.

By merging international expertise with Egyptian innovation, EVES has transcended borders, transforming from a regional body into a global academic ambassador. It now stands as both a recipient and contributor of knowledge, exporting Egyptian clinical achievements and original research to the world stage.

A cultural and educational experience

Beyond science, EVES 2025 offers an immersive experience where learning, culture, and connection converge. Held in Cairo—a city where ancient civilisation meets modern ambition—the Summit coincides with a historic moment: the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, a global cultural milestone.

Delegates will have the opportunity to explore the Pyramids of Giza, the Islamic and Coptic landmarks of Old Cairo, and enjoy the Nile networking evening, celebrating the harmony between scientific progress and cultural heritage. This integration of scholarship and setting embodies EVES’s vision: uniting science, culture, and humanity.

Looking toward the future together

The EVES board is honoured to welcome all participants to EVES 2025. This gathering represents not merely an annual event but a declaration of growth, unity, and vision.

As medicine advances and borders blur, EVES continues to act as a bridge between continents, specialties, and generations—a platform where ideas evolve into action and innovation transforms into impact.

Welcome to EVES 2025, where knowledge becomes progress, and progress shapes the vascular future.

Ahmed Eleshra is an associate professor of vascular and endovascular surgery at Mansoura University in Mansoura, Egypt.
