The best management of type B aortic dissection is an ongoing debate. In April 2016, W. L. Gore & Associates held a two-day symposium in London to promote a comprehensive understanding and approach to management of this disease, from presentation and diagnosis to follow-up. Expert speakers incorporated a full breadth of specialties and provided their experience and practice of endovascular treatment in pursuit of improved patient outcomes. The presentations and discussion focused on research and publications that have affected a paradigm shift away from best medical treatment and towards best medical treatment plus endovascular repair.
